Giant Birthday Cookie

Ok folks…taking you back to my life pre-babies. I realize this was less than 2 years ago but it still seems like another lifetime for me. When I was a working professional, my little home away from homes was in a cubicle downtown Boston. If you’ve ever worked in a cubicle you know there’s not much room or privacy. You (hopefully) quickly become friends with those around you…people I dearly called my cube-mates.

Earlier this week, one of my old cube-mates informed me it was his birthday this weekend and asked for a “giant cookie” made by one of his favorite local businesses (ok I added that but I’m sure he’d agree hehe). I asked what he wanted and here’s what I got:

I’m partial to Dark and White chocolate, Macadamia nuts, pecans, pistachios, walnuts…okay, maybe I better stop while I’m ahead…this list truly goes on! 😀 See what U can do!

Just hope he likes the cookie and it helps him enjoy his birthday 🙂 I have to say…I’m a little jealous of his weekend. Celebrating a birthday and cinco de mayo…fun!! Happy Birthday Rod!So, clearly this project was pretty open to my own designing…time to have fun! I figured chocolate cookie for sure…can’t compete against LilaLoa’s chocolate cookie recipe!! I hadn’t used nuts in any of my cookies but that wasn’t going to stop me! I decided to add a little pistachio crunch around the edges. Was thinking a balloon theme…I mean it’s a birthday right!! I was pretty sure I wanted to do balloons but when I saw CancunCookie’s latest design I knew 100% that’s what I wanted to do. I loved her sky/clouds! The color palette I chose was called Beaded Hues from Design Seeds. And as for the size…well shipping a “giant” cookie wasn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be. So I decided to make the giant cookie 3 smaller cookies that made a giant cookie when placed together 🙂 Still takes up my largest serving platter!!

Let Summer Begin

Traditionally April in Boston is rainy and chilly. However, this April has been a little strange.  The last few days however were hopefully a little sneak peak into what our summer is going to be like! It was 80 degrees and I’ll tell ya…the girls and I totally took advantage of getting outside! We played at the park and got a little soaked in a new water table. I was more than happy to break out my flip flops and air out my little piggies too!

BRING ON THE SUMMER!!!!
