Ga Ga Over Onesies!

Goo Goo Gaa Gaa…the past two weeks were full of adorable baby onesies! One order for little girl onesies to coordinate with a tutu themed 1st birthday and one order for little boy onesies matching a baby shower invitation. Now that my daughter is over 1 and technically no longer considered a baby (in my books they’ll always be my babies though!!) it was fun decorating these cookies and reminiscing about their baby months 🙂 Awww Yep…I’m a softie for babies 😉 Hope both parties enjoy their sweet little baby onesies!

Fabulous Fashionista

One of my friends is turning 30 and her Mom ordered some cookies for her special day. My friend is none other than the amazing talent who designed the Royal Cookie Designs logo so of course her cookies had to be state of the art 😉

My friend Brittany has to be one of the most beautiful women I know…inside and out. But let me tell ya…she is one hot mama! She always looks uber fabulous!! So when her Mom suggested high heels I knew we had to take it one step further and the obvious design was of course fashion!

Hope you had a fantastic birthday Brittany! Wish I lived closer and could help you celebrate 🙂

Another 40

It seems like I made a lot of cookies for 5 year olds and 40 year olds this year. One of those 40 year old birthdays was none other than my own hubby 🙂 He’s definitely like a good wine…keeps getting better with age 🙂

Here are the fun cookies I made for his party. I started with a cupcake cutter and squeezed it while pushing it into the dough so it elongated the cutter into a more beer pint glass shape. I also cut off the cherry on the top from the dough so it was more rounded like a head of beer.

I just couldn’t imagine giving little kids beer designed cookies, to I modifyed the design slightly and made the kiddos root beer instead!

Super Twins

Another set of twins is turning 5…such a fun age! I swear kids are excited about everything at this age. This particular adorable boy and girl are lucky enough to have Mom throwing them a Super Mario Bros themed party. How cool is that!! I remember going over to my next door neighbors house growing up and us sitting in her basement playing this (and many other) video games on her Nintendo. Totally get why it’s still a beloved game for tykes these days…however I bet the graphics are much much better 😉

Super Cool Mom wanted a Mario cookie and a Princess Peach cookie for the little ones to take home with them as thank you’s. She sent these images along and below is my process for trying to replicate.

First night was spent outlining these little guys. Took less time thanI thought thanks to my trusty Kopykake Projector…

Second night I started filling…

Third night I finished filling and added the finishing details!

Voila!!

It’s a Mans World

And based on the men I know, their world would involve fire somehow. I don’t know what it is, but men seem to like fire.

A recent order came in requesting favors for a husband’s 40th birthday party. There was no “theme” per say but she did say she was going to have a few things printed up with “40 & Hot”. My thought process went from Man…Hot…Fire.  Flames!  And so I designed these 40’s that are on fire.  Super fun to make and in my opinion a super cool and unique theme for such a milestone birthday.

Dew my inspiration from this cool car flame

Wanted it to be a fuller flame around the 40 so I drew it up using a Bic marker

Then went to town 🙂 Happy Birthday Curt 🙂

Oh and I have to thank Pinterest for this order. Small world it is…the super nice woman who placed this order lives in Bellingham, Washington…where I WENT TO COLLEGE!!! I couldn’t believe it. Testament that social media does in fact work 🙂

All Things Boy – Part III

When I first started making cookies, I would see everything as a cookie. I wondered “Can I do that in a cookie?” or wondered if I had the ability to decorate something so fabulous “Can I really do that??” Oddly enough, the characters from the movie Cars was one of those. Last week I had the opportunity to give it a try and push my skills out of their comfort zone. I am happy happy happy that I did! I love how they turned out (everything except for the cratering in the windows…those damn craters show up even when you do everything and I mean everything to prevent them!! grrrr).

Happy Birthday Mason…your Grandma loves you tons (proof as she hand carries these cookies on a plane from Connecticut to Utah)!!

All Things Boy – Part II

I’m going out on a limb here since I have two girls and am an only child so I have very limited exposure to little boy birthday parties, but when I think of boy party themes I definitely think of sports. Don’t get me wrong, many many girls are into sports just as much as boys are, but little boys live for kicking, hitting and throwing things 😉

So when an order came in last weed for soccer balls I was super excited!! The favors are for twin boys who were turning 5 and having a soccer themed birthday party at an indoor soccer arena. I hope these cookies were a huge “kick” 😉

All Things Boy – Part I

Not too long ago, before my summer vacation, I was lucky enough to have a couple weeks of girlie cookie orders. Now…the boy orders are flying in! Love it!

My daughter has a set of Legos. It’s a farm scene. She loves it. This farm set is my first experience with legos. No idea why, but I never had them as a kid. So when an order came in for a lego head and a ninjago I was like “whose-a-go what?” Apparently, ninjas have invaded legoville 🙂 There are photos of these cool dudes everywhere online! Some might say suspicious, others would say mysterious…I say hooded coolness!

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Hunter’s brother is also having a birthday party and picked a super cool theme. His theme brings back happy memories of my childhood 🙂 I grew up watching Yogi bear and Boo Boo. Yogi always so silly…so funny…so happy…so hungry!

Happy Birthday Caden!

All Things Girlie – Part II

I was very excited this cookie order came in. It was so much fun creating birthday favors that were so girlie! Eesha’s Mommy noted that her daughter was a fabulous little 5 year old who was really into Barbies and Princesses and would love little cookie favors for her birthday party. I was given design control and found an adorable little princess image, which turned into my inspiration for her cookies. I hope she likes her little black haired beautiful princess cookies!

Happy 5th Birthday Eesha! May all your princess dreams come true this year ❤

All Things Girlie – Part I

It’s no surprise that most little girls like pink and purple. But what it is they like in pink and purple can cover a wide range of things. For instance, my daughter would request her banana purple if I could do that magic trick every morning 😉

While I have two little girls, my daughters are still young and seem to be more interested in climbing walls and playing in the dirt than in girly activities. So this week was a treat and I got to dabble in the “girly” with my cookies 🙂

2 birthdays, 3 little girls, 2 of them twins, and lots and lots of pink and purple! I of course had to make an extra cookie of each design for my daughter to see how she reacted to the girly designs. She loved them!!! Hopefully the birthday girls all like their little princesses and fairies as much as my daughter did 🙂

Happy 1st Birthday Ellie and Natalie! Ellie, after devouring your pixie fairy, you should really thank your Mom for entering your picture in the Dastardly Do bed head contest so you could win these cookies for your party! Your Mom definitely knows a good picture opportunity when she sees one 😉
