Another set of twins is turning 5…such a fun age! I swear kids are excited about everything at this age. This particular adorable boy and girl are lucky enough to have Mom throwing them a Super Mario Bros themed party. How cool is that!! I remember going over to my next door neighbors house growing up and us sitting in her basement playing this (and many other) video games on her Nintendo. Totally get why it’s still a beloved game for tykes these days…however I bet the graphics are much much better
Super Cool Mom wanted a Mario cookie and a Princess Peach cookie for the little ones to take home with them as thank you’s. She sent these images along and below is my process for trying to replicate.
First night was spent outlining these little guys. Took less time thanI thought thanks to my trusty Kopykake Projector…
Second night I started filling…
Third night I finished filling and added the finishing details!
Voila!!

I saw the outlines and wondered what and how the outcome would be. These are outstanding. Wouldn’t be able to eat them. They’re too cute!

Thanks!! Yeah…when an order for 100 of these 4″ cookies came in I went out and bought the KopyKake. There’s no way I could have done all those angel sketches free hand
I feel spoiled now!

Wow these are too cool! What is a kopykake?

Thank you! It’s a cake projector that allows you to project an image down onto a level surface. They’re great for cookies too. Have a look: http://www.kopykake.com/cake-decorating/projectors.html

Thank you Kendra for the ‘Super Cool Mom’ comment. It should be more like the ‘Super Cool Dad’. The idea came more because of my husband love for video games for the classic Super Mario games. The kids haven’t started playing the games yet, but they have seen videos of it. Also, I always order a couple of extra cookies so that I can save and display them. I saved a few of my birthday party cookies and they are now in my display case! Once again, thank you for these great cookies!

Super cool Mom AND Dad!! I’m sure they will have a fantastic party tomorrow. I’m sure the pinata will be a huge “hit” too
hehe Couldn’t resist!
