Wedding of the Century

This past week, I flew down to Florida for my 82 year old Grandma’s wedding. Yes…my Grandma and yes she was an 82 year old bride. And what a happy bride she was I couldn’t help but giggle at how giddy she was! I kept telling her she was acting like a 25 year old…but in truth…this is how young her heart is It was quite the event too. She kept telling people it was going to be the wedding of the century and believe it or not there were more people at her wedding than mine! Fabulous!

Best part of the weekend…seeing how happy she was. Her grins were infectious.

Funniest part of the weekend…we went to buy her shoes the morning of the wedding. She tells the cute 20 something boy ringing us up that she was getting married:

Grandma: I’m getting married today.

Sales Clerk: (looks at me questioningly) Really?

Me: Yep, this afternoon.

Sales Clerk: That’s great!

Grandma: And he’s younger than me (grins a little grin and winks at him)

Sales Clerk: HAHA Really?

Grandma: Oh yes. That’s right…I’m a cougar

Sales Clerk: (cracking up hysterically) You made my day!

Me: How about a discount on those shoes then??

Sales Clerk: You got it!

So we all scored…but only one of us wound up married that afternoon.

Decided to send a little something sweet to the new bride and groom as they get settled together. They have matching rings that say “LOVE FOREVER”. To a lifetime of happiness Grandma! Love you so much!!
